Duncan is the COO and VP Defence and Public Sector, Kognitiv Spark. A former military officer, Duncan has a background in applied remote sensing, cartography and GIS. He is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst from where he commissioned into the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Over the period of his career Duncan served on the widest variety of deployments and operational tours. This ranged from high intensity warfighting to peace support and aid to civilian authorities across 5 continents. He concluded his service following secondment to the Canadian Army with the Infantry School, at the Combat Training Centre CFB Gagetown.
Duncan is one of the co-founders of Kognitiv Spark, a Fredericton based Mixed and Augmented Reality systems development company. Recipients of awards from NATO, Microsoft and ACADA for their innovative and secure software solutions, Kognitiv Spark has gained rapid traction with defence and military partners including the Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Airforce.
Duncan is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management and received numerous awards over the course of his military career, including the US Army Meritorious Service Medal.
In his spare time Duncan can be found dabbling in the dark arts of distilling at the Black Galley stillhouse, which he co-founded in 2017. Duncan is also a coach for the Fredericton Loyalists Rugby Club.
