This year’s Mari-Tech conference, presented by the Canadian Institute of Marine Engineering (CIMarE) and sponsored by the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, will be held at Hotel Bonaventure in Montreal, April 19-21, 2017.
Public Service and Procurement Canada (PSPC), with the support of the Department of National Defence (DND), Department of Fisheries and Ocean and Canadian Coast Guard, Transport Canada (TC), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), as well as Innovation Science and Economic Development Canada (ISEDC) and will be presenting a federal marine procurement outlook session on Wednesday afternoon April 19th 2017 at the Mari-Tech 2017 Conference. This year’s session will focus on upcoming marine procurements, with discussions on federal contracting, value proposition and Industrial Technical Benefits (ITB’s). The session (see preliminary agenda below) will provide an overview of upcoming procurements, over the course of the next three years, in areas such as small vessel construction, vessel repair, refit and life extension, vessel chartering, disposal and other special projects in the realm of marine equipment (e.g. drones, floating docks etc.).

It is also Public Services and Procurement Canada’s intent to capitalize on this event to engage industry in a manner consistent with the principles of Smart procurement (Early Engagement, Effective Governance, Independent Advice, and Benefits for Canadians) and as such offers the opportunity for one-on-one engagement discussions between Government and interested industry parties on Thursday April 20th and Friday April 21st. This opportunity should be of particular interest to small and medium marine-focused enterprises.
