Prior to his role at North Atlantic, Ted served as a Deputy Minister in the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in the Departments of Municipal and Provincial Affairs; Natural Resources; and Tourism, Culture and Rural Development. He has extensive experience in economic and business development, having held senior management positions with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Econext (formerly the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association), the Newfoundland and Labrador Regional Economic Development Association (NLREDA), and the Leslie Harris Centre of Regional Policy and Development at Memorial University.
Mr. Lomond currently serves on the Board of the Canadian Fuels Association. He has also served on the Board of the Oil & Gas Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Atlantic Advisory Committee of the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council, and as a lecturer in the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University.
Mr. Lomond’s academic credentials include Master of Business Administration, Master of Philosophy in Humanities, Graduate Diploma in Arts (Interdisciplinary), Master Certificate in Project Management, Diploma in Applied Ethics (Environmental), Diploma in Credit Management, and a Bachelor of General Studies in Arts and Sciences. In addition, he has completed several executive management programs and several professional certifications. He is a Fellow of the School of Graduate Studies, Memorial University.
