Published: juin 2, 2023

AKA Energy Systems (AKA) has been selected to act as Single System Integrator (SSI) for the integrated electric power & propulsion system of the two new fully electric zero emission battery powered vessels to be built for the City of Toronto. This scope includes all power and automation equipment onboard the vessels along with another package for all the high power automatic shore charging facilities at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. The onboard equipment will be integrated into the vessel design of Concept Naval, which covers a ROPAX and a PAX design.

Counting over 100 years of total vessel running time with battery & hybrid propulsion systems, and a continual stream of innovative power equipment deliveries around the world, AKA is honored to have been selected for this important project.

“As an SSI, we will maximize the benefits for the City of Toronto by ensuring seamless integration of all equipment to deliver maximum performance and efficiency.” said Jason Aspin, CEO, and founder of AKA.
