What we bring to industrial organizations:

RemoteSpark, our worker support platform, connects remote field workers to subject matter experts via a full 3D Mixed Reality call, performed from the Microsoft HoloLens. It blends human expertise with interactive 2D and 3D content, and live IoT data to help field workers complete tasks right the 1st time, every time. RemoteSpark is recognized globally for its ability to perform full 3D remote calls, anywhere in the world, securely and with low bandwidth requirements. Our platform reduces equipment downtime, expert travel, and facilitates knowledge transfer.

The Role

We are looking for an innovative, self-motivated, and energetic Director of Finance to become an integral part of the Leadership team at Kognitiv Spark. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll own the Finance and Accounting functions and establish a clear a path for growth, drive measurable value, and establish core processes and reporting requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead our finance and accounting practices, for both our Canadian and British operations
  • Provide financial leadership and strategic direction in developing and enhancing business and operational strategies within our company and working to identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements
  • Act as a trusted advisor and key resource in assessing critical gaps and advising our executive team, and maintaining strong relationships with our investors
  • Lead the creation of financial modelling and forecasting, organizational budgets, financial systems implementations/upgrades, and reporting for our leadership team, board of directors, and investors
  • Collaborates with the executives and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators to meet operational and management needs
  • Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Manage or oversee the relationship with external advisors (lawyers, accountants, independent auditors, tax professionals, consultants) as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of proven experience in a senior-level Finance or Accounting role, with strategic planning and execution following the Canadian Accounting Standards.
  • Exceptional experience building and transforming a high-performing work environment through sound business practices
  • A strong background in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environments such as corporate finance, venture-backed startups, or M&A
  • Experience leading a rapidly scaling startup or technology organization through growth phases of the company lifecycle (Series B, growth, and beyond)
  • High emotional intelligence – you have effective verbal and written communication, impeccable attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple projects, and a deep sense of empathy to guide you
  • Entrepreneurial and adaptable – you are comfortable working in a fast-paced, roll-up the sleeves, growth-oriented culture
  • CPA or related designation
  • Experience in the SaaS industry
