The Role
We are looking for an innovative, self-motivated, and energetic Director of Finance to become an integral part of the Leadership team at Kognitiv Spark. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll own the Finance and Accounting functions and establish a clear a path for growth, drive measurable value, and establish core processes and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead our finance and accounting practices, for both our Canadian and British operations
- Provide financial leadership and strategic direction in developing and enhancing business and operational strategies within our company and working to identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements
- Act as a trusted advisor and key resource in assessing critical gaps and advising our executive team, and maintaining strong relationships with our investors
- Lead the creation of financial modelling and forecasting, organizational budgets, financial systems implementations/upgrades, and reporting for our leadership team, board of directors, and investors
- Collaborates with the executives and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators to meet operational and management needs
- Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Manage or oversee the relationship with external advisors (lawyers, accountants, independent auditors, tax professionals, consultants) as needed
