Purpose of the position
Responsible and accountable for leading the activity of the Material Planning & Supply team, coordinate the execution of purchase contracts and maximise production and assembly material and service availability, management and optimisation. The role promotes best in class use of our ERP/MRP system and has a key focus in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the data processed.
ACCOUNTABILITY
- The Material Planning and Supply Manager is responsible for leading our Material Planning and Supply team in the proper execution of a Purchase Contract and therefore the successful implementation of the commodity strategy set by the Strategic Procurement team
- Ultimately accountable for maximising material availability and minimising working capital exposure across the region’s production site
- Maintains close collaboration with the Planning, Warehousing, Operations, Project and Engineering departments to ensure material supply is accurate, in full and on-time
- Liaises with the Strategic Procurement Team to ensure supply-chain readiness to satisfy project requirements and/or to raise any risks of product/service quality and supplier performance
- Holds holistic view of material availability and possible shortages at a Customer Project level to be able to represent the Procurement and Supply-Chain team at Project reviews and updates
- Sets good standard and practices to maximise vendor delivery and quality performance through appropriate communication channels
- Sets good standards and practices for supplier day-to-day management and relationship building, as well as KPI monitoring – participates in contract management activities together with the relevant Commodity Manager
- Ensures purchase requisitions are processed in a timely fashion and ensures accurate and timely release of purchase orders by ensuring clear responsibilities and ownership in the team
- Detects data quality issues and works with relevant stakeholders to ensure rectification – advises their team on the best way to proceed in case of error
- Looks for opportunities to improve the accuracy of data to remove material order errors
- Manages the team’s performance, development and growth through clear objectives, priorities and training plans

Technical Competencies/ Education:
- Degree in Engineering, Business or other technical discipline
- Procurement or Operations expertise (5+ years) in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of ERP and MRP systems, P2P and procurement processes
- Good numeracy skills / data management skills
- Excel skills
Experience:
- Experience working with ERP systems (IFS preferable)
- ERP data management essential
- Procurement and/or purchasing experience
