JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Business Development, the Member Relations Manager is responsible for maintaining a deep knowledge of A&D industry and ACADA benefits and services for the benefit of current and future members.

The Member Relations Manager plays a key role in implementing a membership engagement and retention strategy. They will build and maintain strong relationships with existing members while researching and pursuing new business opportunities. They are the expert in identifying members; day-to-day needs and proposing suitable solutions, including assisting the Manager of Operations and Administration in investigating and resolving membership and payment issues. Often the first and last point of contact for a member – responsible for selling and onboarding members and gathering data. Their knowledge of our members will be unmatched, and they will brief all members of the team as needed to ensure we are aligned in supporting our members. In addition, they will lead the sales strategy for annual and event sponsorship opportunities.

As the individual responsible for ensuring ACADA is creating value for its membership and stakeholder base, they maintain open communication and positive relationships while upholding the reputation and credibility of ACADA. They are a strong communicator with both internal and external stakeholders and are the go-to individual on the team when it comes to membership, stakeholder base, and industry knowledge.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Member Relations Manager include (but are not limited to):

  • Membership Growth & Retention – Identify, develop and implement strategies to attract, retain and engage members while aligning with ACADA’s objectives and priorities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with members, industry stakeholders, and potential sponsors and partners to enhance awareness and advocacy, building awareness of ACADA’s value proposition.
  • Industry Knowledge and Advocacy – Monitor legislative, policy, and regulatory changes, identifying emerging industry trends and recommending proactive solutions.
  • Program Support – Support ACADA’s advocacy, communication, events, workforce initiatives, and business development efforts to drive member value and promote ACADA’s role in Atlantic Canada, Canada, and abroad.
  • Sponsorship & Partnership Development – Identify and secure sponsorship and partnership opportunities that align with stakeholder needs and maximize mutual value.
  • Membership & Data Management – Oversee membership renewals and invoicing, data accuracy and insight-gathering mechanisms to inform strategic initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Degree/Diploma in business, communications, sales, or other relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a role which required exceptional relationship/member management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing association members and/or sales and partnerships for a client/company database.
  • Proven track record of building collaborative and impactful relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of business development and sales in sponsorship/partnership packages.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Industry knowledge and awareness of the aerospace, defence, and security sector considered a strong asset; in lieu of this, experience serving organizations with a global scope for product/service sales is required.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM systems.
  • Bilingual French/English considered an asset.
  • The successful candidate is required to have access to reliable internet and appropriate home office space to allow them to work from home.
  • The successful candidate is expected to have access to a vehicle for travel to events and/or member offices within the Atlantic region.
  • Some travel within the Atlantic Provinces will be required.
