Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Machine Operator, this will be an afternoon shift (3:30 pm to midnight). An engineering technology background is ideal. Current starting pay is 18.25 and goes up to 20.25 at 12 months.

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are recruiting for SMT Machine Operators who will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines in our fast paced and quality-oriented manufacturing facility.

What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma
  • Technical Degree preferred and/or demonstrated and related experience
  • Ability to work within a group or individually when called upon
  • Excellent attention to detail skills
  • An average level of comfort with computer based and computer-controlled systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Previous hands-on experience with electronics and electrical assemblies would be an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the daily requirements for assigned Machine.
  • Setup PCBA line including paste printer, pick and place machine, and reflow oven for daily operation
  • Prepare and load all necessary materials for PCBA line
  • Mount SMT components onto the printed circuit boards using pick and place machines.
  • Operating stencil printer machines, reflow oven, and conveyors
  • Inspecting paste and places parts on the board
  • The operator must continuously monitor the machine results to ensure the product requirements are continually met
  • Perform daily duties relating as per work instructions and/or Supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation on day-to-day, job-to-job basis
  • Perform Maintenance (as Schedule or Unscheduled) on assigned machines
  • Track and Reload movement of product as it relates to your assignment
  • Perform other labour assignments relating to daily operations when machine load light
  • Strong communication with AOI, Quality and Engineering groups is key to receiving proper feedback so good control on the process can be achieved and maintained.
  • Verify product compliance to workmanship standards as documented in work instructions
  • Programming of machine profiles for new circuit board assemblies
