About Thales in Atlantic Canada
Thales is the Prime Contractor for the AJISS contract for the Royal Canadian Navy’s new AOPVs and JSSs, where AJISS = AOPS and JSS In Service Support. With a warehouse, HMC Dockyard presence, and team of ~30 in Halifax, Thales is providing full maintenance and logistics support, and life cycle and Engineering support, backed by a further team in Ottawa, as well as currently setting up a similar office in Victoria for those ships of these two classes to be based at CFB Esquimalt. Thales is working with the RCN’s Fleet Maintenance Facilities along with local sub-contracted supplier support for planned and corrective maintenance while the ships are in their running cycles. In this way, through AJISS, Thales is supporting and building the local industrial base in Halifax, NS, and in the future, in Victoria, BC. Thales is also responsible for contracting for Docking Work Periods for each ship every five years.
