OTTAWA (ONTARIO), Nov 12, 2019 – The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) is pleased to announce the election of Keith Donaldson, Vice-President, APEX Inc., as Chair of the AIAC Board of Directors. Mr. Donaldson succeeds Pat Mann, President of Patlon Aircraft & Industries.
“I’m honoured to hold this position at such a critical time for Canada’s aerospace sector,” said Donaldson. “AIAC’s Vision 2025 initiative has started a new dialogue about how we can grow and secure Canada’s future in the international aerospace sector. With the Vision recommendations, we have a tangible roadmap for the future. Let’s get to work to ensure Vision 2025 becomes a reality.”
Jim Quick, President and CEO of AIAC, officially welcomed Mr. Donaldson to his new role at AIAC’s Annual General Meeting on November 12, which coincided with AIAC’s 2019 Canadian Aerospace Summit.
“Keith will provide strong leadership to AIAC as our new Chair. He has a keen understanding of the importance of protecting and growing Canadian aerospace, a sector that provides nearly 215,000 jobs and $25.5 billion annually to the Canadian economy,“ said Quick. “On behalf of all of us at AIAC, I offer our heartfelt congratulations to Keith. We look forward to achieving great things with him during the coming year.”
The Board also acknowledged the service and contributions of Pat Mann, the outgoing chair.
“Pat’s leadership over the last year played an important role in the success of our Vision 2025 initiative. We are grateful for his hard work and dedication and look forward to continuing to work closely with him in the future,” said Quick.
AIAC is the national association representing Canada’s aerospace manufacturing and services sector. As the world’s fifth-largest aerospace industry, Canada’s aerospace sector contributes over $25B to the economy in GDP, exports over 70% of its output, and dedicates nearly 20% of its activity to research and development (R&D).
