[FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK, August 12, 2020] 2metre helps businesses move their customers to the front of the physical distancing line.

The physical distancing and contact tracking mobile platform, developed by 3D Planeta, a Fredericton-based technology company, helps businesses address the twin challenges of maintaining a safe two metre distance among staff and customers while also collecting, tracking and storing customer contact data in accordance with government regulations and cybersecurity standards.

“The 2metre app has improved the process of communicating with customers waiting to enter our restaurant and really simplified the customer logging process required by the provincial government,” said Rich Fazzolari, owner of Fred’s Bar and Grill, a 30 year-old restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario.

For less than $1 per day, businesses can reduce the stress and time needed to securely and safely meet contact tracking requirements mandated by provincial health authorities. The app promotes physical distancing by reducing customer lineups by up to 85 per cent through its embedded text messaging system.

“I was deeply concerned about the impact of COVID-19 when it became evident that business as usual has changed and wondered what our team could do to contribute based on our tech capabilities,” said Norm Couturier, President and CEO of 3D Planeta. “We developed the 2metre app based on analyzing the social and regulatory impacts of COVID-19 on business and their customers.”
