Canada’s aerospace industry launches #AerospaceChallenge2050

OTTAWA (ONTARIO), AUGUST 16, 2021 – Mike Mueller, President and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIAC), issued the following statement today:  

“This election should be about economic recovery and getting Canadians back to work. Aerospace is already well-positioned as an export leader and can help drive economic recovery and jobs from coast to coast to coast.

“We are calling on all the parties to work with our industry to protect and grow one of the most skilled workforces anywhere in the world and ensure the leadership of Canadian aerospace on the world stage with clear plans and commitments.

“Over the coming weeks we will be engaging directly with party leaders and candidates regarding the importance of a national aerospace plan – spanning the civil, defence and space sectors –to ensure Canada is positioned for growth and leadership in the highly competitive global aerospace marketplace while creating thousands of jobs for Canadians in every region of this county.”
