Comrod’s Longstanding Contribution to Canadian Maritime and Naval Communications
For over two decades, Comrod antennas have been a key component in the communications infrastructure of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Known for their exceptional reliability and performance, Comrod’s products are trusted by military primes across Canada and internationally. The Comrod AC 10 antennas, for example, are installed on multiple Canadian Coast Guard vessels, ensuring seamless communication across various maritime operations.
Comrod’s extensive product line includes a wide range of antennas and systems tailored for naval surface and submarine platforms, covering all tactical and maritime frequency bands, from HF, VHF, UHF, to Cellular, LTE, and Satcom. Their ruggedized whip antennas, modular HF antennas, and sophisticated multi-functional systems offer solutions for a broad spectrum of naval and maritime communication needs. With options for deck, bulkhead, or mast mounting, and power ratings reaching up to 1kW, these products are designed for flexibility and high performance in challenging environments.
In addition to their surface solutions, Comrod offers specialized submarine antennas that have been deployed on European submarines. These systems, operating within the 1.8-3000 MHz range, feature fast-tuning HF capabilities and multi-functionality, supporting VLF-HF, V/UHF-SATCOM, L-band SATCOM, and Cellular communication—all encased in ruggedized radomes capable of withstanding extreme underwater conditions. These custom-designed systems maximize communication efficiency in the limited space available on submarines.
