Ian, the Co-founder and CEO of SeafarerAI, grew up in Hamilton. Upon graduating from McMaster University, he enrolled in the Navy, where he spent 10 years as a Naval Warfare Officer. Subsequently, he embarked on a 14-year career at IBM as a Business Development Executive, leading departments and consulting across Latin America and Europe. Ian, along with his family, then returned to Hamilton to embark on his entrepreneurial journey, founding three successful ventures. SeafarerAI, born from Ian’s passion for the sea and technological innovation, offers an AI solution to monitor potential environmental and security risks to ports and coastlines. Saint John, New Brunswick is now home, where Ian lives with his wife of 30 years, Kim, and two of their three children.
