CME regretfully announces the delay of our annual Dare to Compete Conference from March 22, 2022 to September 27, 2022. Although we were excited to welcome our guests back to the largest event of it’s kind on the prairies, after deliberation, we have made the decision to postpone our event to the fall.
While the COVID-19 pandemic in part fueled this change, ultimately the decision was made to combat the diverse challenges our manufacturing community is currently facing. Specifically, growing absenteeism, labour shortages, and other operational difficulties have created many obstacles for manufacturers that would have affected their ability to take part in the event.
Though we are disappointed to be postponing the conference, we are confident that this decision will allow us to deliver the in-person conference experience our attendees, presenters and partners know, expect and deserve. Additionally, to better align with the needs of our business as well as our members, we will continue to host the annual event in the fall moving forward.
This change will not affect our annual Gala Awards Dinner, which will proceed to take place
at a reduced capacity on March 24, 2022.
