DAT-POW event on new technologies and CT: consultations with Industry, Operational and Academia

Dear Canadian Industry,

The NATO Counter-Terrorism Section would like to invite interested company experts to participate in the DAT-POW consultation meeting with the industry, academia, and operational elements on the use of new technologies in urban environments contested by non-state actors. This meeting is part of NATO’s efforts on Defence Against Terrorism (DAT) and aims to address the current challenges faced by the industry and the operational forces in this domain, as well as the related implications.

The event will take place exclusively in-person at NATO HQ, on 6 July 2022 and will comprise two sessions :

1)      Consultations between NIAG and SOF to identify the remaining challenges related to new technologies in urban and asymmetric warfare

2)      A Workshop with academics to identify potential future DAT-POW projects on the use of new technologies in urban environments contested by non-state actors

Registration is a 2-part process:

  1. Due by Friday 24 June: To confirm your participation, please fill in and return the attached registration form (found at bottom of post) by email to Marie Paulus, Counter Terrorism Section, Emerging Security Challenges Division (ESCD): Paulus.marie@hq.nato.int
  2. 2 weeks in advance of 6 July: Access to the meeting room will only be possible with a NATO HQ unescorted visitors access badge, which requires a NATO Secret clearance. Escorts will not be provided.  Canadian citizens who plan on participating in person and who currently hold a NATO Secret clearance should contact the Canadian Delegation at bnato.industry@international.gc.ca to request a NATO pass. Your full name, citizenship, and DOB, along with a copy of your NATO Secret clearance will be required.
