October 7th, 2021 – Halifax, N.S. – The Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association (ACADA) presented awards to AVALON HOLOGRAPHICS (NL), BLUEDROP TRAINING & SIMULATION (NS), TROJAI INC. (NB) and ULNOOWEG DEVELOPMENT GROUP INC. (NS) at the ACADA Gala Dinner on October 6, during DEFSEC Atlantic 2021 in Halifax, NS as part of the Industry Excellence Awards.

These Atlantic Canadian recipients were celebrated for their success and excellence in the aerospace, defence and security industries in four distinct categories – Innovation Leader – Avalon Holographics, Business Development Distinction – Bluedrop Training & Simulation, Most-Promising Start-up – TrojAI Inc. and Gender and Diversity Excellence – Ulnooweg Development Group Inc.

“The ACADA Team, our membership and partners extend heartfelt congratulations and its appreciation to the 2021 ACADA Industry Excellence Award recipients. The diversity and capacity of the industry capabilities within the region is reflected by these companies.”

  • Avalon Holographics is a St. John’s based manufacturer of professional holographic displays who with pioneering technology has created an unmatched holographic experience that presents rich 3D content without the need for accessories or head gear.
  • Bluedrop credits its significant business development success to its great relationship with its customer base and on-going effort to pursue large programs by working closely with large OEMS. Bluedrop values its strong relationships with major OEMs and has strategically positioned itself to provide great value to its customers as a Small Medium Enterprise.
  • TrojAI is emerging as a global leader in the development of Robustness and Security solutions for computer vision, protecting model pipelines from end-to-end. Across enterprises, adversarial attacks on artificial intelligence systems are recognized as a clear and present threat.  Very similar to the advent of the World Wide Web in the early 90’s the challenge to innovators is to provide security using infrastructure that was never built with security in mind.
  • Ulnooweg Development Group is a 35-year-old ISO certified non-profit Indigenous Development agency that encourages development of Indigenous business, develops indigenous entrepreneurs and strives to increase innovation.

“On behalf of the ACADA Team and our members and partners, I’d like to extend a warm congratulations to our 2021 ACADA Industry Excellence Award recipients and we look forward to having a strong pool of candidates for our 2022 awards” said Mr. Kumpic, Chair, ACADA
