Lorneville And Saint John Industrial Parks Combine Efforts To Serve Marine Industries

Published: Décembre 9, 2022

Lorneville and Saint John Industrial Parks are joining forces to promote a unique combination of services and facilities to the shipbuilding, industrial marine, and emerging marine renewables sectors. Working together we can offer ISO 9001 fabrication and assembly capabilities; direct access to marine barge transportation; over 10 hectares of developed land suitable for laydown and staging; and proximity to a globally connected container port.

With the momentum generated by the National Shipbuilding Strategy, we are identifying opportunities to assemble oversized components for the shipbuilding programs within Atlantic Canada that may otherwise require lengthy overseas shipping or allocation of scarce shipyard space for onsite assembly.

Likewise, with marine renewable technologies, onshore assembly and staging of subcomponents can be ideally serviced from our location which is less than 600 km from Vineyard Wind, North America’s first commercial-scale offshore wind project, and within 150 km of the FORCE development sites for tidal energy utilizing the Bay of Fundy tides.
